Rolling Into Nostalgia: Brand Shoot for Calgary's House of Skate

Updated: Aug 14

I'm thrilled to share my recent brand shoot for Calgary’s newest roller rink, House of Skate. As someone who grew up in Calgary, I spent countless birthdays and events at Lloyd’s Roller Rink, so it’s exciting to see a new spot bringing back that classic roller-skating vibe.

During the shoot, the focus was on the rink's versatility, catering to birthday parties, familes, kids learning to skate, teens, those in their 20s-30s looking for a fun night out and Gen Xers reliving their youth.

Shooting during final construction added some unique challenges, but it was all worth it. We worked over two days, just a week before the grand opening, and despite the hustle, the energy was incredible. The owners, Theresa and Roxy, were amazing to collaborate with—their passion for the project is truly infectious.

This shoot was more than just a job; it was a walk down memory lane with a modern twist, and I can’t wait for Calgary to fully embrace House of Skate.
